Nonformal education, as a complementary form of the educational process, provides a space for the acquisition of practical experience and the development of competences necessary for the twenty-first century. This study examines the implementation of nonformal education in environmental education in Slovakia, analyzing its benefits, challenges, and forms. Particular attention is paid to the Pánske Vŕšky nature trail project in the village of Rudinka, which serves as a model for integrating educational and leisure activities with environmental awareness. The project shows how the participation of the local community and the use of modern methods can contribute to sustainable development. The results suggest that nonformal education is a key tool for strengthening environmental literacy, creativity, and social cohesion.
