In this chapter, a brief explanation of safeguards is given prior to the measurement of uranium (U) enrichment, together with the background of safeguards, and the identification of nuclear fuel materials, 235U, 238U, and thorium-232, is described. Furthermore, detailed methods for discriminating and measuring nuclear fuel materials are presented.
