Users of social networking platforms have increasingly become victims of various types of attacks, including technical assistance scams and impersonation scams, such as those involving the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), intended to profit from people's trust in order to make money. This article gives a comprehensive assessment of the recognised global cyber threats. Thus far, along with effective countermeasures to mitigate their impact.
