The use of robots is not only restricted to manufacturing but also found to be equally important in other industries, such as logistics. The utilization of robots in the manufacturing and service industries has grown exponentially. In the logistics companies, the utilization of robots has not kept pace with the usage of robots in the rest of the world. The adoption of robotics in the Indian logistics industry has been slow-paced for one or two reasons. There are many factors that influence the utilization of robots in industries in India. In this paper, we will provide an overview of robots in warehouse operations, their antecedents and barriers, and challenges that limit their adoption in Indian logistics, as well as future trends and development in Indian logistics.
