Power Saving Mechanism for Street Lights System Using IoT

Electrical energy plays an important role in today’s world, so there is a need to save electricity in addition to its generation using several sources. The proposed intelligent street light system incorporates light-dependent sensors and ultrasonic sensors to intelligently control street lights based on environmental conditions. The system aims to enhance energy efficiency, reduce operational costs and improve safety for pedestrians and motorists. It will use a distributed sensing network with interconnected smart sensors, allowing real-time data exchange and analysis. A central control unit will process the sensor data and activate/deactivate street lights accordingly. The system's benefits include energy conservation, cost reduction, improved safety and scalability. However, successful implementation requires a robust communication infrastructure, accurate and reliable sensors, an adaptive control algorithm, cost considerations, privacy and security measures.
