摘要
TheDomestic chores present chapter establishes the link between technological advancement in cooking and its impact on women’s quality of life for their sustainability. For centuries, cooking has been the prime work of women and the kitchen has a dominant place for women. Hence, finding how much technology has penetrated the kitchen is very interesting to study. Extensive primary data was collected from a total number of 400 households from urban and rural areas of the AligarhAligarh district using a structured questionnaire. The study found that there is an alteration in the thinking of family members with each new addition of kitchen appliances in a household. With the advent of each new kitchen appliance, other family members also developed an interest in cooking food. But it also observed that the addition of new cooking appliances is given the least priority in the budget of middle- and lower-income households. In rural–urban areas, the rural area of the district still uses old-age technology, while urban areas are upgrading their technology faster than rural areas.
