Application of Radiation Therapy in the Multimodality Treatment of Liver Cancer
摘要
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a systemic disease with high metastatic characteristics. Local treatment strategies such as surgery, interventional therapy, radiation therapy, as well as ablation therapy can achieve significant local response, but cannot prevent tumor recurrence and metastasis. Based on the new advances in molecular targeted therapy and immunotherapy in recent years, the treatment modality of HCC has changed significantly, and multimodality combination therapy is widely used in the management of HCC. The Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Primary Liver Cancer (2019 Edition) clearly states that attention should be paid to the comprehensive treatment of HCC, including combinations of local therapy with local therapy or local therapy with systemic therapy and other modalities to curb HCC progression and metastasis.
