A Passive Islanding Detection Technique for Microgrid Using PCC Voltage and Current
摘要
The condition of islanding can be used to supply continuous power using proper islanding detection and control techniques. This article has, a novel islanding detection method, which uses the change in the negative sequence of voltage and current at the point of common coupling (PCC) to perceive the islanding situation. During islanding and other events (faults, capacitor switching, load switching, etc.) the change in negative sequence of voltage and current is such, that the product of change in negative sequence of current and change in negative sequence of voltage at PCC exceeds a certain set value in event of islanding and remains below in other events. Results of several islanding and non-islanding occasions are discussed in this paper using a 9-bus system with solar-based distributed generation in MATLAB environment.
