Silk has emerged as a desired option by combining the complicated qualities of technical textiles with lightweight and biodegradability. From medical sutures to protective garments, silk's versatility, and inherent properties make it an asset in the field of technical textiles. Silk wound dressings, scaffolds, and hydrogels encourage quicker healing with less scarring. Due to its thermoregulation properties, silk is perfect for protective clothes, and its piezoelectric effect allows textiles to function as self-powered electronic devices. This book chapter explores advancements in silk-based technical fabrics and reviews the most recent studies on the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of silk. Protective clothing, wound healing, temperature regulation, and responsive/adaptive textiles are some of the important application areas that are discussed.
