Traffic Sign Detection with Pattern Recognition Techniques Using Image Processing

Given its importance, traffic sign detection and recognition has emerged as a popular area of study for both domestic and international researchers. The primary function of vehicle cameras is to record live road images, after which they are used to recognize and classify any traffic signs that are encountered, giving the driving system precise information The proposed method uses the pattern recognition techniques for the traffic pattern images with the feature extraction and segmentation process involves the Gabor Filter and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) for pattern feature segmentation and Shape Harris Corner Detection Algorithm for shape detection. The method uses the Indian traffic pattern dataset for the process. The machine learning algorithm like Support Vector Machine (SVM) which classifies the patterns of the input images. An accuracy Sensitivity, Specificity, and F1 Score are the performance measures of the system. The proposed method will increase the accuracy of the system.
