Fatigue Analysis of Metamaterials for Fused Deposition Modeling Applications
摘要
The primary focus of this paper is to perform the finite element analysis of metamaterial structures created using fused deposition modeling (FDM) and ASTM D638 Type IV specimens, which are commonly utilized for tensile testing. Three specimens, namely honeycomb infill, rectangular infill, and circular infill, were investigated under simulation for cyclic loading conditions seen in real-world applications. The study investigates the effects of metamaterial geometries, FDM process parameters, and material qualities on fatigue performance. Iterative simulations and optimization approaches pinpoint critical fatigue failure points, offering valuable insights for optimizing the design of FDM-produced metamaterial structures.
