Analysing the Impact of Moonlighting and Digital Transformation on Organizational Growth: A Comprehensive Review
摘要
Multiple studies indicate that persons with two jobs do not feel less interested in their second job than in their first work, despite potential conflicts at home. According to Webster, it appears that those with two occupations may do exactly as well as those with one. However, those with multiple jobs reported greater conflicts between work and family than those with a single job. People who work two jobs per week average 46.8 h per week, compared to the typical worker’s 38.6 h per week. Having less free time implies spending less time with family. More or less, the impact can also be seen on the overall organizational performances as moonlighting affects the performance and hence the attainment of the overall organizational results. Since many employees wish to have a second part-time job or a second regular income source, they search for new opportunities and hence work in their extra time. This practice has been further promoted by digital transformation since it has enabled them presence of a larger pool of applicants. So, acknowledging the concept of moonlighting in organizations, this research paper tried to present the impact on the growth of organizations and the factors affecting the same due to digital transformation. The papers consider the descriptive comparison method in the form of a meta-analysis of previous papers available on academic sites like Google Scholar, science direct, research gate, Sage, etc. The results depict that several factors attract people to do a second job. At the same time, the results do not depict a direct effect on organization growth; hence, this can be further explored with the factors identified in future.
