TicketHub: An Online Ticket Booking and Pass-Issuing Platform for Local Bus Transport

In recent years, the online booking system is very popular and it is in use for some of the applications of transportation and hotels/resorts. The online booking system has tremendously helped to increase the tourism business, but a similar system for local bus transport is rarely available. The prevailing issue of prolonged queues at local bus depo due to manual ticket and pass issuance necessitates a more streamlined approach. In this paper, an online system is proposed for local bus transport to book tickets, issue and renew passes, and track the live location of buses. This led to the conception of a web-based platform aimed at facilitating ticket booking and pass issuance, eliminating the need for extensive queue waiting. Notably, the platform ensures seamless online payments and incorporates a user-friendly interface. Users can review their booking history and monitor transaction status. This comprehensive activity log captures all prior user interactions. Technical implementation involves CSS, BOOTSTRAP, and HTML for front-end design and PHP for back-end functionality. The proposed website emerges as a proficient solution, effectively tackling shortcomings prevalent in current applications. By offering an intuitive interface for ticket booking and pass issuance, along with features like online payments and secure login/authentication, users benefit from an enhanced experience.
