Ultraviolet (UV) communication is greatly affected by the channel environment. The distributed operation of ad hoc networks, time variation of channels, random movement of nodes, and other factors make it difficult to avoid collision and interference between data packets, which limits the network capacity. This chapter studies the causes of multiple-access interference (MAI) and describes the use of multiuser detection to address these problems and improve the performance of UV ad hoc networks.

摘要

Ultraviolet (UV) communication is greatly affected by the channel environment. The distributed operation of ad hoc networks, time variation of channels, random movement of nodes, and other factors make it difficult to avoid collision and interference between data packets, which limits the network capacity. This chapter studies the causes of multiple-access interference (MAI) and describes the use of multiuser detection to address these problems and improve the performance of UV ad hoc networks.
