Comparative Analysis of CO2 Adsorption Capacity for Amine-Modified Activated Carbon Prepared from Jujube Seed

Due to the rapid industrialization and urbanization, the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) concentration in the atmosphere increases. For capture of carbon dioxide, adsorption has been proven to be successful approach. Among many adsorbents, Activated Carbon (AC) is an attractive adsorbent used for CO2 capture. Our present research recommends a comparative study of the adsorption capacity of three different amines-impregnated AC prepared from Jujube seed such as Diethylene tri amine activated carbon (DETA-AC), Tetra ethylene Penta amine activated carbon (TEPA-AC) and Di ethanol amine activated carbon (DEA-AC) for capture of CO2. From CO2 batch adsorption analysis, it has been observed that the DEA-AC (0.4) shows greater CO2 adsorption capacity (38 mg/g) and volume of CO2 adsorbed (19 cc/g) as compared to DETA-AC (0.4) and TEPA-AC (0.4) with same impregnation ratio of 0.4.
