Blockchain-based Framework for Sustainable Image Security and Encryption

摘要

For decades, images have been a significant data-storing mechanism. Securing them is a challenging task for scholars all over the world. Blockchain Technology (BCT) is still an emerging technology with potential applications in different domains. Blockchain can be implemented in the image security field to enhance the security of stored images. The integration would be beneficial for society as BCT provides decentralized secured data storage, while image processing helps in efficient compression and visualization of data. This integration would be helpful in different technological sectors including healthcare, smart cities, transportation, and defense. The problem with this integration is the computation complexity of blockchain as it would require higher computational power and storage. In this paper, a framework for BCT implementation in image-based applications is discussed along with its advantages, limitations, and different use cases. This paper highlights the proposed framework created for integrating blockchain in reducing the computational complexities of storing images in blockchain.
