Forest Fire and Smoke Detection for Effective Disaster Resilience

Increasing wildlife fire hazards are a major cause of concern as we are progressing. There have been multiple forest fire incidents all over the world which not only destroy the forest cover but also result in the loss of Human life, property, livestock, soil quality, and overall biodiversity of the area affected. Forest fires are difficult to detect and need to be attended immediately. This global problem needs overall management and precautions to avoid any global disaster in the future and for that purpose machine and deep learning have created diverse possibilities for predicting smoke or fire. This review gives a detailed summary on how Machine and Deep Learning could be used for smoke and fire detection using images and videos.
