Research Progress of Assisted Pollination Technology

摘要

To systematically understand the importance of pollination in both natural ecosystems and agricultural production, this paper reviews the development and current state of flower pollination technologies, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of existing mechanical pollination methods, and explores future directions for pollination technologies. The review encompasses research on assisted pollination globally and domestically, summarizing mainstream research approaches, methodologies, and findings. It also anticipates future research trends, focusing on factors such as pollination efficiency and fruit setting rates compared between natural, artificial, and mechanical pollination methods. The literature review identifies three primary types of assisted pollination methods: artificial assisted pollination, robot pollination, and drone pollination. Artificial assisted pollination, while beneficial for enhancing orchard yields, is labor-intensive and time-consuming. In contrast, robot and drone pollination technologies offer higher autonomy but require specific environmental conditions and currently exhibit lower fruit setting rates. Looking ahead, the integration of mechanical pollination with advanced agricultural technologies holds promise for developing precise pollination techniques tailored to different plant species and growth environments. This approach aims to improve overall pollination efficiency and fruit quality in agricultural production systems.
