Validation of Multi-frequency High-Orbit Target Orbit Determination System Based on CEI

The existing high-orbit target orbit determination system has some problems, such as single measurement frequency band, low cost-effectiveness ratio and poor real-time performance, which is difficult to meet the needs of multi-frequency and multi-satellite orbit real-time monitoring. To improve the capability of real-time orbit monitoring of high-orbit space targets, an innovative connected-element interferometry (CEI) measurement method for multi-frequency and intermittent observation of high-orbit targets is proposed, and experimental verification is carried out to realize the orbit determination of multi-frequency and multi-satellite. Firstly, the basic structure and measurement principle of the CEI measuring system are described, and the whole cycle ambiguity is determined by the prior orbit information. Then, the experimental system is built to carry out the experimental verification of the high orbit target and complete the orbit determination. Finally, the orbit determination accuracy is evaluated. The results show that the method is applicable to targets in multiple frequency bands of S, C, X and Ku, which expands the application range of the method. In addition, utilizing the intermittent observation data with 10-min observation duration and 4-h observation interval for orbit determination, the orbit determination accuracy can still be ensured without significant degradation when the amount of observation data is reduced by 96%.
