A NS-3 Based Framework for Simulation of Ad-Hoc Routing Algorithm in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks

摘要

A Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes forming a self-configuring network without using any existing infrastructure. Due to the complexity of deploying the Ad-Hoc routing algorithms in the real world, research in this area is usually based on simulation methods. Hence, it is essential to build a framework to help user analyze their algorithm simply and avoid unnecessary time spent on setting up the simulation environment. In this paper, a new framework based on NS-3 is proposed for the simulation of Ad-Hoc routing algorithm in MANET. The proposed framework offers many pre-defined mobility models to simulate different node behaviors in the real world and also a friendly interface to set up common simulation parameters and import geographic environmental information. Experimental tests show the ability of the framework to simulate Ad-Hoc routing algorithm more efficiently using existing routing algorithms.
