Breast Cancer Rehabilitation
摘要
Cancer diagnosis often causes social stigma and familial estrangement, leading to even social seclusion. Patients often have to deal with both the side effects of the treatment and the psychosocial stigma associated with their diagnosis. Rehabilitation is a dynamic process starting soon after the diagnosis, continuing for the full duration of treatment, and even in follow-up. Cancer rehabilitation helps patients regain and enhance their capacity for physical, psychological, and occupational activities within the constraints set by their illness and its management. Unfortunately, this domain is usually neglected in the developing world, leading to poor quality of life among cancer survivors. This chapter mainly emphasises the need and methods of rehabilitation for breast cancer.
