BRCA and Other Novel Mutations: Target Population and Risk Reduction Methods
摘要
Germline genetic testing is crucial to the comprehensive care of patients with breast cancers. Mainstreaming of testing in the clinics and multigene panel testing is the current standard of care. There are important implications of identifying a P/LP mutation in BRCA1, 2 and other genes like PALB2, TP53, CHEK2, RAD51C and STK11. It is crucial for the patient’s clinical management, future risk assessment and mitigation as well as their family members. This chapter is a compendium of current evidence-based information on this subject for the practising clinicians, guiding them to the Do’s and Don’ts.
