Management of Non-IDC Histology Breast Cancer

Non-IDC histology breast cancer constitutes 10–15% of breast cancers. Invasive lobular carcinoma is the most common variant while the metaplastic variant appears to be the most aggressive. There appear to be variations in terms of epidemiology, prognosis and patterns of care amongst different histology. The chapter summarises in brief common non-IDC breast cancer management. Unique points in individual cancers pertaining to epidemiology, pathology, genetics, pattern of presentation and pattern of management have been summarised pointwise.
