Breast Cancer in Elderly Female
摘要
Age is a non-modifiable risk factor for breast cancer, and the risk increases with age up to 80 years. Tumour biology in elderly patients is usually favourable, but the treatment of elderly patients is challenging in many ways. Chronological age need not correlate with functional age. Lack of level I evidence in various aspects makes it difficult to define a standard of care treatment. Each patient should receive individualised personal treatment. The benefits and risks of treatment need to be discussed with the patient. The quality of life of elderly patients should be of prime importance.
