Developing New Perspectives from Implementing a Culture Change in Specialized Healthcare Education Through Training Programs for Preceptors and Residents
摘要
This chapter discusses lessons learned from implementing change in the specialized healthcare education culture through innovative training programs for preceptors and residents. It describes the combined application of Kotter’s change model with Kern’s model for instructional design to build a stronger healthcare system by contributing to a person-centered culture. The intervention aims to promote the professional growth of preceptors and residents by focusing on the development of interpersonal skills. Chapter 2 describes the theoretical foundation and structure to implement cultural change through innovative training programs. This chapter discusses the step-by-step application process focusing on the integration of both models, as well as on data retrieved from the continuous program evaluation, challenges found, and improvements progressively incorporated into the instructional design to align with the intended outcomes. It also discusses its practical applications, limitations, and possible future directions.
