摘要

This chapter describes a theoretical approach to implementing change in specialized healthcare education culture through innovative training programs for preceptors and residents. The vision is to build a stronger healthcare system by contributing to a person-centered culture. This is to improve people’s healthcare experience, and ultimately achieving better outcomes for patients, families, communities, health professionals, and healthcare organizations. The training programs focus on developing preceptors’ and residents’ interpersonal skills and understanding of related themes. An integrative structured change management model is proposed, which includes a framework for motivating and guiding training providers to achieve desired outcomes. This model is integrated with a framework for instructional design and is further informed by data collected from program evaluations. The resulting design incorporates best practices from education, psychology, and business.
