摘要

This book presents a project to foster preceptors’ and residents’ professional development. The project focuses on the development of two training programs designed to improve interpersonal skills, with the aim of strengthening the healthcare system, promoting the wellbeing of professionals, as well as cultivating a person-centered care culture. Having conducted an exhaustive analysis of specialized healthcare education worldwide in Chapter 4 , in this chapter we present the specific characteristics of this training in Spain as well as the challenges that preceptors and residents face when performing this training in the clinical setting. A discussion of the two innovative training programs that lie at the core of this book is presented, as well as suggestions on how to maintain the community of practice for preceptors and residents over time through policy changes. It is imperative to understand the nature of organizational structures, whether at the local level, at the national level, or in other geographical and cultural settings.
