A Study on Anonymization Through Participation in iPWS Cup 2023

This paper presents a comprehensive review and further development of the anonymization and re-identification attack methods proposed during the international anonymization competition, iPWS Cup 2023, which was a part of IWSEC 2023. The primary contributions of this research are threefold: (1) Proposing the minimum frequency attack method against “Yamaoka anonymization,” which has increased the complexity of previous anonymization competitions. (2) Introducing a straightforward yet robust anonymization method that combines overlapped record swapping with the addition of noise while enhancing data protection. (3) The effectiveness and practicality of the aforementioned methods have been demonstrably assessed through extensive experimentation.
