Integrating Resource-Based Strategies for Sustainable Growth

This book attempted to explain the experiences, challenges, and opportunities for the post-conflict Kurdistan region of Iraq (KRI). The resource-based sectoral analysis reported several challenges, including, but not limited to, mismanagement of natural resources, poor institutional quality, reliance on oil and gas and imported products, and an undiversified economy. However, the region’s rich history, cultural heritage, and economic and geopolitical position can stand at a crossroads in its economic development and hold immense potential for economic transformation and further growth. As we conclude our exploration of the resource-based economy for the Kurdistan region of Iraq, it becomes clear that the efficient management and strategic utilization of resources are essential to sustainable growth and development.
