Integrated Approaches for Strategic Development in the Kurdistan Region: Perspectives on Resources, Strategies, Infrastructure, and Agriculture
摘要
After World War I, with the creation of new states from the territories of the Ottoman Empire, Kurdistan was integrated into the new entities of Turkey, Iraq, and Syria, in addition to the eastern part of Kurdistan, which had already been part of the Gajar Empire in Iran (Stansfield, 2006). Although promises were made by Britain to shape independent areas called Kurdistan within the territories of the defeated Ottoman Empire under the Treaty of Sèvres in 1920, Britain, then, reneged and forced the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923 (McDowall, 2021).
