Production Analysis for Corrugated Box Manufacturing: Simulation Study in Delhi-NCR

Simulation of real-world operations is a critical prerequisite to strategy and decision-making. The modeling and simulation of such real-world processes are imitated using agents. Their time-varying analysis and applications have been discussed in the research work. A significant reduction of problems in the form of fundamental elements plays a key role in the design and modeling of most real-world processes. Manufacturing simulation can be represented using a process modeling approach, which can help approximate a process as a function that displays certain real-world properties of the process over time. The present work first discusses how a process can be modeled using a server and a queue, by creating input through the generation of entities. Using a similar methodology, a discrete event simulation of a cardboard printing factory situated in Delhi-NCR (India) has been demonstrated. Authors observed utilization statistics, the number of entities departed, the average waiting time of goods and the number of entities pending by introducing changes in the manufacturing capacity as part of the experiment.
