Applicability Study on the ITU-R P.1546 for the Five V/UHF Radio Frequencies
摘要
Focusing on ultrashort wave terrestrial radio communication, we collected the measurement data of ultrashort wave bands in Colorado, USA. Building on the ITU-R P.1546, we analyze ultrashort radio wave propagation characteristics and compare the ITU-R P.1546’s prediction applicability across diverse frequency bands and terrains. The results show that: (1) Ultrashort wave is unsuitable for long-distance propagation and is easily affected by obstacles. (2) The ITU-R P.1546’s prediction accuracy is higher in the plain than that in the mountain area. (3). Limited by the prediction principle, ITU-R P. 1546 has lower prediction accuracy near the transmitter. The research results can serve as a guide for the regional application and localization study of the propagation prediction provided by the ITU-R recommendation.
