摘要

This research paper describes a microstrip patch antenna’s (Design-I and Design-II) design, simulation, and analysis for S-band wireless applications. FR-4 (Design-I and Design-II) is used as a substrate material whose dielectric constant is 4.3, has a thickness of 1.6 mm, and has a loss tangent of 0.025. The antenna is designed and simulated using CST software (Design-I and Design-II). Also, the plots were drawn using OriginPro software. Return loss, VSWR, gain, directivity, bandwidth, and surface current were found to be − 63.574 dB, 1.0013, 3.68 dBi, 5.74 dBi, 123 MHz, and 40.1 A/m (Design-I) and − 55.269 dB, 1.0036, 3.27 dBi, 5.86 dBi, 98 MHz, and 49.1 A/m (Design-II), respectively. This research paper’s primary objective is to increase the return loss and bring about a reasonable VSWR. The value of VSWR should be close to 1, but in most cases, the VSWR value is 1. Also, improving the antenna’s bandwidth increases antenna’s gain and directivity. Additionally, as a consequence, this antenna can perform its functions more efficiently.
