Para-aortic lymph node assessment research investigating the frequency and pattern of lymph node metastases in individuals diagnosed with stage IB to IIB cervical cancers indicates a strong correlation between para-aortic lymph node engagement and the presence of metastases in pelvic lymph nodes, as well as larger primary tumor size (>2 cm) and involvement of the common iliac nodes [1, 2].
