Rhinosinusitis
摘要
Rhinosinusitis is a common condition requiring a structured, evidence-based approach for diagnosis and management. Assessment includes symptom duration and severity, with investigations such as CRP, ESR, and imaging reserved for complicated cases. Empirical antibiotics are used selectively, with amoxicillin-clavulanate as first-line therapy; alternative agents are chosen based on age and allergy status. Adjunctive treatments include intranasal corticosteroids and saline irrigation. Monitoring involves clinical response, especially in complicated or chronic cases. Referral is warranted for poor response or complications. Surgical intervention may be necessary when medical therapy fails or in the presence of anatomical obstructions. Multidisciplinary care is essential in severe cases.
