Scabies can mimic other skin disorders and is often misdiagnosed initially; however, a detailed history should guide the clinician toward the correct diagnosis. Pediculosis is generally easier to recognize but can be confused with other conditions, particularly when it affects body parts beyond the scalp. This chapter aims to equip primary care providers with a concise and practical approach to the diagnosis and management of scabies and pediculosis from the first patient encounter.
