Burns
摘要
Burns management begins with primary assessment: securing airway, breathing, and circulation, followed by fluid resuscitation for burns >20% TBSA using Hartmann’s solution. Secondary assessment includes thorough history, burn depth and extent evaluation (using Rule of Nines or Lund-Browder chart), and necessary labs. Burn classification guides treatment from topical care for superficial burns to grafting for deeper injuries. Wound care includes cleansing, antimicrobial dressings, and avoiding prophylactic systemic antibiotics. Referral to a burns unit is needed for extensive, deep, or critical-area burns, inhalation injuries, or comorbid patients. Pain control, monitoring, and early nutrition are key in ongoing management.
