A 72-year-old male patient with invasive papillary urothelial carcinoma, progressive decreasing renal function suffered from anemia for 2 years. He underwent transurethral bladder tumor resection several times and hemodialysis six months ago. He also had a history of type 2 diabetes, hypertension and coronary heart disease. He suffered from anemia despite the administration of recombinant human erythropoietin. Then, Roxadustat was initiated at a dosage of 120 three times weekly without iron supplementation. Hemoglobin increased gradually from 78.3 g/l to 119 g/l within 6 months. At the same time, decreased serum ferritin and hepcidin could be observed. The Roxadustat’s dosage reduced to 70 mg three times weekly and hemoglobin level stabilized between 100 g/1 to 120 g/l. There was no signs of the progression of carcinoma during the administrate of roxadustat.
