Geological Genetic Analysis of OGW Systems

Taking a steam flooding experimental area in the western depression of Liaohe Basin as an example, the development characteristics of oil and gas water system are studied. In these process, data of cores, well logging, analysis and test and development dynamic are combined and studied. And methods of geological statistics and comparative analysis are mainly used. The purpose layer is oily, the core is dominated by oil sands and oil content, and the lower limit of effective reservoir is 28% and permeability 30 mD respectively. The viscosity of crude oil increases with increasing density, and the correlation between waxes and density of crude oil is not obvious. As the viscosity of crude oil increases, so does the gum and asphaltenes. The content of colloid and asphaltene also increased with increasing density. Crude oil density is bigger, most of 14 pieces of samples is more than 0.97 g/cm3. The crude oil viscosity is much greater than 5000 mpa.s. The wax content is low, the maximum of 4%, the majority of less than 2.5%. And the colloid and asphaltene contents is bigger, all above 38%. The formation water is NaHCO3 and is alkaline. The oil-water interface between different oil reservoirs in I oil group is between 1020 and 1060m. Reservoir distribution is controlled by sedimentation and tectonics. The thickness of single oil layer is more than 5m, and the small one is only 1–2m. In the process of thermal mining, the influence of oil and gas water system should be fully taken into account when designing and implementing various measures to improve oil recovery.
