Miniature Model of Developing Functional Structure of Accelerator Project

So far, power supply technology, changes in the pattern of magnet excitation and the controls for synchrotron accelerators are briefly described. But, how such accelerator projects are initiated and developed needs to be briefly explored. In this regard, it must be emphasized that a strong functional structure for planning, monitoring, and coordination with a comprehensive approach to undertake project control, construction, and operation of a large synchrotron with hundreds of different activities are required to be strictly and minutely followed for completing the task within the specified time frame. Synchrotron accelerator project is comparable to Philharmonic Orchestra where each musician touches the perfect chord and completes the task within the given time frame to create a memorable symphony at the end. Primary function of initiating a synchrotron accelerator project is very similar to building a good team of musicians capable of performing their specific tasks for the orchestra. A functional structure is necessary to serve two functions: one during the project construction stage and the other during operational stage and the two stages need to be fully coordinated to serve the desired objective of the project facilities. It is a huge task even then few important assignments are only listed for preliminary consideration before finalizing an accelerator project such as land, power, road transport, institutional and medical facilities for those countries aspiring to develop their own accelerator.
