Nowadays, Internet of Things (IoT) technology has a wide range of applications in the field of networking and has attracted the interest of many research and industrial communities. Since devices transmit data over a wireless medium, they are easy targets for attacks. Several works are reviewed by categorizing machine learning and deep learning-based intrusion detection in Internet of Things. This study reviews 20 literatures that present deep learning-based intrusion detection and 20 literatures that present machine learning-based intrusion detection. Also, this study reviews articles based on different datasets and different metrics. Based on our analysis of this literature, we are motivated to provide efficient attack detection for IoT networks.
