Retracted Chapter: Analyzing MACD Divergence: Challenges in Forex and Commodity Trading
摘要
MACD stands for Moving Average Convergence, and it’s a trading tool used by traders, analysts, and researchers in Forex and commodity trading to estimate the relationship between two moving averages of a security’s price. It checks the currency pair price movements and briefly compares two moving averages, usually 12 and 26 periods (EMA 12 and EMA 26). We use here MACD divergence and Simple and exponential moving averages. The bullish and bearish trends represent price increases and decreases, respectively, and the diverges indicate strong trends, whereas closed lines indicate weak or sideways trends. The MACD indicator effectiveness depends on assets and different time frames like EUR/USD and XAUUSD, which change with different time frames. It works effectively when used combined with other technical tools and current market news. The EUR/USD shows a 44% win rate in the 30-min time frame, and the XAU/USD shows a 45% win rate over 15- and 60-min time frames. Although MACD is a valuable asset in real-time forex and commodity trading, its productiveness is changeable, and traders should combine it with other technical tools, market news, and economic events for optimal results.
