Talents are strategic resources not only in realizing China’s national rejuvenation but also in global competition. The “Belt and Road” initiative has put forward new requirement for talent cultivation. In the context of the Initiative, the internationalization of the educators for the elderly has been promoted by policies, and this is indispensable for the healthy and sustainable development of the elderly education. There are urgent problems to be thought about and solved: besides the professional knowledge and ability that all talents should have, what special competences and skills should the elderly education talents acquire? What measures should be taken? Based on the strategic goals of the “Belt and Road” initiative, we should clarify the definition of the internationalization of educators, find out the reasons for the deficiency of international qualities, and put forward measures for the reform of the cultivation mode of international talents.
