摘要

The use of image processing techniques to detect and count nuclear tracks automatically is considered an essential technique for measuring the fluence, direction, energy, and energy loss of the detectable particle, and interference often occurs in these tracks, which leads to difficulty in counting these tracks. The new algorithm proposed in this study for the detection of the tracks registered by CR-39 nuclear tracks detector using the images captured by an optical microscope. The proposed algorithm is based on segmentation using the grounding and naming techniques. Fast Marching Method (FMM) to increase the scalability and accuracy of detection to distinguish, from analyzing the results, the proposed method obtained high accuracy in automatically detecting and counting alpha tracks, as the accuracy values reached (detection rate = 0.9596, false alarm rate = 0.0404), which indicates the high accuracy between manual counting and automatic values.
