Spatial Struggles for Emancipation
摘要
Subsuming space with the power discussed so far is never complete. In lieu of the conclusion, this chapter presents various spatial strategies in the social struggles regarding the different stages of space subsumption addressed in the order of the preceding chapters. The oppressed and subservient people fight back by exploiting such space that remains unsubsumed as ‘stray space’, using such process of space subsumption for their emancipation and empowerment as monopoly rent and deploying such less oppressive forms of space subsumption as action space. Section 8 presents a struggle against human rights infringements committed by Japan’s state power as manifested in the child guidance centre, against which the author has engaged for several years.
