The Autogenous Bond of Space and Body
摘要
This chapter covers the native and contrived bond of body and mind with space, termed the “autogenous bond of space and body”. The configuration of relativespace becomes a part of the native human mind and body in various waysautogenously through the quotidian contact of the human with space. However, as Uenopoints out in the case of Minamata disease, the state and capitalist power destroy theenvironment and alienate this intimate autogenous bond. Power artificially attempts tocontrive this bond, as demonstrated in the construction of the Catholic Church as the“spiritual centre” in Hanoi by France as a past colonial power and Disneyland in thecontemporary world.
