In chapter “Coordination Structure and Properties of Minerals” of this book, it is pointed out that for ions of the same element, crystals formed under different external conditions such as temperature, pressure, and medium can also have different coordination numbers. In general, an increase in temperature decreases the coordination number of cations, while an increase in pressure increases the coordination number. Thomson’s law is a typical example of this phenomenon.

摘要

In chapter “Coordination Structure and Properties of Minerals” of this book, it is pointed out that for ions of the same element, crystals formed under different external conditions such as temperature, pressure, and medium can also have different coordination numbers.
