I hope physicists, chemists, and mineralogists can have a competition to see who can solve this problem first.” In 1988, after more than 20 years of innovative research and the publication of a series of papers on this issue (Ye 1964, 1965a, b, 1971, 1974a, b, 1979, 1982a, b, 1983c, d, 1985a, b), Ye Danian published “Structural Optical Mineralogy.” The publication of this academic work has propelled China to the forefront of international research in the field of crystal structure and mineralogy theory (Wang 2005; Qin 2011).

摘要
