Luminescence refers to the property of an object to emit visible light when stimulated by external energy. The phenomenon in which objects emit light when stimulated is called illuminant. According to the previous research (Pan 1993) and the research work of the author of this book, the luminescence of minerals related to optical functional mineral materials is now introduced.
