As mentioned earlier, zeolite is one of China’s advantageous nonmetallic minerals, with special crystal chemistry, developed nanopore structure, excellent physical and chemical properties, and extremely wide applications. The zeolite family of minerals is diverse, with more than 80 kinds of zeolite minerals discovered in nature. The zeolite family, the most common and able to form large-scale industrial deposits, includes several types, such as clinoptilolite, mordenite, chabazite, erionite, and phillipsite, most of which are mainly found in China. In many cases, due to the purity and inherent weaknesses of natural zeolite, it often cannot fully meet the requirements of the relevant application fields. To further improve its adsorption, ion exchange, and catalytic properties, it is necessary to modify or transform natural zeolite chemically (Sun Baoqi et al. 1995).
